Product description

6ES5470-8MB11 – Siemens SIMATIC S5 analog output module

6ES5470-8MB11 is an analog current output module from the SIMATIC S5 470 family. It transfers analog setpoint values from the controller to field devices through two isolated current outputs.

Application

The module was designed for SIMATIC S5-100U and ET 100U systems. It can be used in existing installations to control equipment requiring a bipolar analog signal, such as drives, controllers or other actuators.

The 8MB11 version uses a +/-20 mA range. When selecting a replacement, the MB designation is important because similar modules in the 470 family are available with different current and voltage ranges.

Replacement in existing systems

Before replacement, verify the complete catalog number, signal type and configuration of the PLC or ET 100U station. This helps prevent replacing the module with a mechanically similar version designed for a different analog signal range.

Detailed electrical data are listed in the technical specifications section.
