Danfoss 175G5529 is a VLT MCD 500 soft starter designed to limit motor starting current and mechanical stress during acceleration of induction motors. Danfoss identifies this exact configuration by type code MCD5-0068B-T5-G1X-20-CV2.
The unit incorporates an internal bypass so motor current can bypass the power thyristors after the start sequence, reducing losses and heat during steady-state operation. The CV2 version uses a 110…120 V AC or 220…240 V AC control supply.
